Prescott Valley, AZ – The Arizona Sundogs announced today they have signed defenseman David Schlemko.

Schlemko 25, returns to Prescott Valley for his second season with the Sundogs. The 6’1, Edmonton Alberta native has spent his last 4 seasons playing in the AHL for the San Antonio Rampage and predominately in the NHL with the Phoenix Coyotes since 2008.

Many fans will remember Schlemko played for the Sundogs during their championship season in 2007/08. That season he had 39 points (10-goals and 29-assists) in 58 games. “He has always been a fan favorite in our arena and the fans were excited to see him again on the ice at Tim’s Toyota Center last fall when the Coyotes held their training camp in Prescott Valley”, said General Manager Chris Presson. He continued by saying “This is one of the top moments in the history of this club. This is where it all started for David. His career took off after completing his first full season as a professional in Arizona. We are very excited to welcome him home and look forward to him helping us win games this season.”

During his time playing for the Phoenix Coyotes of the NHL he skated in 109 games and banked 31-points (6-goals and 25-assists). While playing for the San Antonio Rampage of the AHL the Coyotes affiliate, Schlemko saw 127 games and scored 60-points (12-goals and 48-assists).
