Prescott Valley, AZ – The Arizona Sundogs have always been heavily involved in the community and this summer is no different. Now that the season has concluded the Arizona Sundogs look ahead and continue their support of local charities, groups and businesses. Reaching out has always been a top priority for the organization and they are certainly living up to those expectations.
Only 13 days into the month of May and the Sundogs have already been quite busy. They have taken part in Affinity RV’s annual expo, the Verde Valley Fair, the Whiskey Row Marathon, Women’s Council of Realtors Fashion Show and Arizona State Credit Union’s Shred-a-Thon. Most recently they helped clean up Prescott Valley during the Chamber of Commerce annual Team Up for Clean Up project. This past Sunday the Sundogs came out and supported Destination Imagination, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing educational programs for students during their car wash fundraiser.
The Sundogs are also joining, American Cancer Society’s, Relay for Life when their mascot Burnie, visits each walk beginning in Cottonwood, Camp Verde and then Prescott. Burnie, Kevin Baker and Sundogs Representative, Terry Gregg, were asked to lead the traditional Survivor Walk, which is a time for survivors of cancer to celebrate the courageous battles they’ve overcome. “We were so honored that we were asked to lead the walk” said Sundogs Player, Kevin Baker. “It was so inspirational and moving to just be there and meet so many amazing people. I felt so blessed.”
Later this month you will also find, staff, players and Burnie, at various events including, “Go Outdoors” presented by Frontier Village and “Woofstock” presented by Prescott Dog. The Sundogs were also invited by Granville Elementary School in Prescott Valley to take part in their first annual walk-a-thon, where they will raise donations for needed school supplies. For the second year, the Old Capitol District’s Cub Scouts have invited the Sundogs to be a guest at their Summer Day Camp at Bradshaw Pines Camp.
“We are very grateful to be a part of so many wonderful events and programs. It’s an amazing feeling to put a smile on someone’s face and bring joy to their lives, even if just for a moment” said Arizona Sundogs’ Community Relations Director, Ashley Stovall. “This is our way of giving back to our town. We are so blessed to have the incredible support we have and this is what it’s all about.”
