Bill Yuill is Chairman and CEO of The Monarch Corporation, a private investment company located in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada.
The Monarch Corporation has four operating divisions in communications, transportation, investment financing and sports properties.
Monarch Communications had owned and operated radio and television stations and cable television systems in western Canada and the western United States as well as Totem Transportation which operates school buses in southern Alberta.
Monarch Land is a land development company and Monarch Ventures is a land investment and financing company.
Consolidated Sports over time owned and operated seven minor league professional baseball franchises in Canada and the United States, a minor league professional basketball team in Las Vegas, Nevada in addition to the WHL's Everett Silvertips. The Company also owns and operates a golf course in Peoria, Arizona and holds an equity interest in McKenzie Meadows Golf Course in Calgary, Alberta.
Bill presently serves as a Director of two Canadian public companies - Shaw Communications Inc. of Calgary, Alberta and Western Financial Group of High River, Alberta. He serves as a Director of McKenzie Meadows Golf Club. He is a Governor of the Western Hockey League and is a member of the Foundation of St. Andrew's College in Aurora, Ontario.
In 1995, he received the Milner Fenerty "Pinnacle Award" in Calgary and in 2006 he was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Laws degree from the University of Lethbridge.
He is a graduate of the Young President's Organization, Alberta Chapter and is a member and past chairman of the World President's Organization, Alberta Chapter.
Bill has been involved in community organizations including the Medicine Hat College Foundation, the Medicine Hat and District United Way and the Medicine Hat Family YMCA. He also served on the Alberta Economic Development Authority.
Bill is married to Elizabeth.
